That In-Between Time, part 2

Back to my fighting weight - a mix of Zumba and Pilates will do it every time! Plus, I find if I stop dieting I loose weight. Salads make me eat more as I'm always hungry. So, my new Carb (one raisin bagel for breakfast and one for lunch) and I no longer think about food, as I'm full and therefore eat nothing until hours later (strange that!)

My Builder started this week but now things are quiet my charity meetings and such are just poking their head above ground, but I think it's another week before we see real signs of life. I'm sorry to say the worlds continues to go mad and (as we're all affected) it's a very scary place to be. Another celebrity suicide - Robin Williams. Oh this life - it's the human condition and a very sad one at that. (Now I'm making myself upset.)

Back to cheerier things. Only days before September and Autumn and to that I have only one word - Chiffon! Yes, chiffon - this is the fabric for Autumn. Have I completely lost it, I hear you say? Not at all. You wait and see. Whimsically printed, abstract, deep florals, colours and prints in every direction. See if I'm not right! But the one thing I am looking forward to are my Brogues. Yes, that's correct - Francine in Brogues with a skirt. American Vogue showed a pair with a very slim-fitted sequined dress and this is my "go-to" look. Well, not quite on me but it's one of my inspirational looks for Autumn in my already packed "Look Book".

Red Carpet Dressing. I've just read about an English export to LA who makes "frocks" for the A-List (if that's what you call them). Is this my forum for discussing this? I suppose it is... Big is not always better. Frills draping and over the top embellishment do not couture make. Why, when there are so many truly wonderful dresses around would one wear Marchesa. It is truly a mystery. Am I being awful when I say that having an extremely powerful Hollywood producer for a husband is not always a recipe for successful dressing? I've almost always found that Hollywood Stars dress appallingly, considering what they have on offer. But maybe I've been naive and the power of the dress is more than just the power of the dress.

Now today I had time after a meeting to do something I very rarely do - look around Harvey Nichols. How very disappointing it all was. The most disappointing being the shoe department. And while we're on the subject, I'm looking for (or was looking for) a silver belt. Don't people wear belts anymore? Maybe not. I have never seen such a bad effort where belts are concerned. I've given up on my quest. But, in general no one has a decent accessories department anymore. And gloves! Don't get me started...

(This blog sounds like a bitchfest, but it's not. It's just Shoes - yes, Bags - yes, Belts - no, no, no!)

So, enjoy the quiet time. Visit somewhere new - explore! I'm drawn to saying "Laugh and the World laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone". Robin - we learn from that, that it is the truth. I would say "Try to enjoy Life and Smile".

Happy Shopping!
